The Toowoomba Clinic recognises that carers play an invaluable role in the support, recovery, and successful treatment of a person with mental illness.

Visiting Hours

The Toowoomba Clinic welcomes visitors during visiting hours:
4.00pm - 8.00pm during weekdays
2.00pm - 8.00pm on weekends and public holidays

Visitors are discouraged from visiting during group therapy.

Visiting outside of these times should be arranged in consultation with nursing staff.

Visitors are requested to sign in and out of the Clinic using the Visitor Register.

Children must be directly supervised by visitors at all times.

Food & Amenities

The Toowoomba Clinic prides itself on our meal service to meet the nutritional needs of our patients.

All meals are prepared onsite in our clinic kitchen and we encourage patients to eat breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and supper in our dining room.

The café hours are:
Monday to Friday: 7:30am - 4:30pm
Saturday and Sunday: 9:00am - 6.00pm

If you bring food into the Clinic, it must be in accordance with our strict infection control guidelines for food safety. All food that needs refrigeration must be labelled with the patient’s name, date and time and provided to our hotel services staff. All potentially hazardous food items must be consumed within 24 hours, or it will be discarded daily at 9:00am.

Medication

All prescriptions and over-the-counter medications including paracetamol, vitamins and oral contraceptives must be given to nursing staff on admission.

If a patient asks you to bring in medication, please discuss this request with nursing staff.

Flowers & Gifts

Please consider the safety of our patients. If you are unsure, please phone the hospital in advance to ensure your gift is not refused.

Flowers must not have any materials that may put patients at risk, including wire, yarn or ribbon. We have vases for patient use.

Public Transport

Public transport available includes taxi service and bus service with stops available in Pechey Street outside the Toowoomba Hospital.

Additionally, a trans-link bus stop is located at the Toowoomba Base Hospital which is a short 150m walk from The Toowoomba Clinic.

Parking

Parking for visitors is available free of charge on the Clinic campus.
